Spiral Hoses for Pneumatics and Compressed Air

Pneumatic spiral hoses are highly flexible, permanently elastic lines for the variable compressed-air supply of moving tools and plant components. As a German manufacturer, eba pneumatic produces a wide range of quality plastic spirals made of PA12 and polyurethane which, thanks to their excellent recovery, contract again by themselves after being stretched.

Materials and versions

Materials, versions and areas of application

Our portfolio comprises spiral hoses with axial and radial winding for maximum freedom of movement with minimum space requirements. We offer versions made of abrasion-resistant polyurethane (PUR/PUR-L) for handling equipment, robotics and the food sector, as well as pressure-resistant polyamide spirals (PA12-PHL) for extended temperature ranges from -60 °C to +100 °C. In addition to single spirals, we produce space-saving multi-line versions (DUO, TRIO and QUADRO) for the parallel control of several pneumatic circuits. All variants are available either as plain hose or pre-assembled with nickel-plated brass fittings (G 1/8", G 1/4", G 3/8" and G 1/2") including an integrated kink protection spring.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about spiral hoses

What are spiral hoses?
Spiral hoses, also known as plastic spirals or coiled hoses, are pneumatic hoses preformed into a coil shape that stretch flexibly under tensile force and automatically return to their compact original shape thanks to the elastic memory of the material. They are used above all for the compressed-air supply of moving equipment such as pneumatic tools, assembly stations or robot arms, to prevent the hose line from sagging and to avoid trip hazards in production.
What sizes are available for spiral hoses?
At eba pneumatic, spiral hoses are available for hose outer diameters from 2.5 mm to 22 mm (typical standard sizes for pneumatics are OD 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm). Depending on the version and number of windings, the usable working length ranges from a few metres to extended reaches in industrial use. In addition to our standard range, we also produce individual block lengths, tailored block diameters and specific tail lengths flexibly to customer requirements.
What are the advantages of a spiral hose?
The greatest advantage of a spiral hose lies in the space it saves and in preventing tangled lines or hose loops, as the hose remains contracted to a fraction of its working length when not in use. In addition, the constant internal tension protects the hose against mechanical abrasion on the floor and reduces the risk of damage or accidents in the workplace. Thanks to highly flexible materials such as PUR, the hoses also have excellent recovery and high kink resistance.
